Job Description

Due to expansion, my client is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic PC & Network Support Specialist experienced in providing Desktop Technical Support in the environment of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server, Lotus Notes, Citrix, Active Directory, MSOffice.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills at all levels & will be an excellent team player with the ability to work independently too (team size 4). They will also have an outgoing, proactive character as the job entails face to face support of c500 UK users.

Essential Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a technical support role within a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Windows Server 2003 & Windows Server 2008 Environment
  • Lotus Notes/Domino administration
  • Image new PCs/Laptops
  • In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications
  • System backups Symantec Backup Exec.
  • Software licence and backup administration
  • Citrix Presentation Server 4.5/Citrix Access Gateway
  • Network printer administration
  • Active Directory (not essential but highly desirable)

Responsibilities:

  • To provide support for all networked PC\'s and Servers
  • To upgrade Network/PC software and hardware as directed by the Senior Network Support Specialist.
  • To control security passwords and User ID\'s on the Network.
  • To control all daily/weekly/monthly Network Operational work. Server Backups, Diagnostics and Fault Logging.
  • To recommend IT related training courses for systems Users and or to train the User if appropriate.
  • To log all problems for Users, Application Software, Communications and Hardware in the Fault Log and escalate to the Senior Network Support Specialist where necessary.
  • Report to the Senior Network Support Specialist on a weekly basis on all aspects of work carried out and planned.
  • Record all hardware and software in the Company Asset Database.
